About the Role
Welcome to Footprint Hero, a dynamic YouTube channel where Alex Beale explores the world of DIY solar setups and cutting-edge home energy technology. Our channel is reaching new heights, but we need your expertise to boost our video production from a sluggish 1-2 videos per month to a more consistent 2-3 videos. Your primary mission in this role is to streamline our production process, ensuring that we deliver top-notch content regularly.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-production: Your role begins with sparking creativity and planning. You'll contribute to the ideation of video topics and thumbnails, assist with content scheduling by considering factors like weather and product deliveries, brainstorm compelling storylines, research necessary products, and reach out to brands for potential collaborations. You will also assist in scripting brand integrations.
Production: While this is a remote position, your support will involve keeping the filming process on track by coordinating remotely with Alex.
Post-production: You'll organize video footage, create thumbnail concepts, and occasionally design thumbnails using tools like Canva or Photoshop. Additionally, you'll ensure timely submission from editors and designers, and review edits for consistency with our brand guidelines.
What You Won't Do: Filming on set or directly editing videos.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone with at least a year of experience in YouTube production, whether on your own channel or for others. You should be located near the US Central time zone to facilitate seamless communication. A passion for YouTube and a knack for organization and communication are essential. Bonus points if you have experience in video ideation and a keen interest in solar energy and renewable technology.
Time & Compensation
This role requires approximately 10 hours per week, working on 2-3 videos monthly. We offer a retainer of $2,000 per month, with the potential for a long-term collaboration if our partnership thrives.
To apply, please provide links to 2-3 videos you've contributed to, detailing your involvement in simple terms. Additionally, share a ~3-minute Loom video (available at loom.com) answering the following questions: What relevant experience do you have? Why are you a great fit for this role? Who are your top 2-3 favorite YouTubers? Suggest a new video or thumbnail idea for our channel to demonstrate your ideation skills.
