We’re looking for a standout editor to take full ownership of the post-production and publishing process for founder-led YouTube and podcast content.
While editing is at the heart of this role, the right person will bring much more than technical skill. We want someone who can think editorially, make smart creative decisions, and help shape content from raw footage into polished, high-performing videos.
This is a remote, ongoing part-time opportunity for an experienced creator who enjoys working independently and understands how to deliver premium business content with a clean, modern feel.
What you’ll own
You’ll be responsible for managing the content workflow from rough recordings through to final delivery. That includes syncing footage and audio, shaping the story, building short-form cutdowns, preparing thumbnails, and handling the basic publishing steps needed to get each piece live.
The goal is simple: the founder records the content, provides context when needed, and then trusts you to turn it into finished work with minimal back-and-forth.
What success looks like
The ideal person is not just a timeline editor. You should be able to review a long recording and quickly identify the strongest moments, the best structure, and the edits that will make the final piece more compelling without making it feel overproduced.
You’ll need strong judgment around pacing, story flow, camera switching, audio cleanup, graphics, and what should be left out. Just as importantly, you should know how to create short-form clips that work as standalone pieces, not just random excerpts pulled from a longer episode.
Typical weekly deliverables
Each week, you’ll generally produce:
The long-form content may include multiple camera angles, separately recorded professional audio, and longer sessions that require careful shaping into a clear and engaging final edit. Shorts should feel intentional, polished, and ready to publish on their own.
Creative direction
The style we’re after is premium, modern, and restrained. Think high-end founder content, thoughtful business storytelling, and polished podcast editing.
We are not looking for heavy-handed effects, meme-style edits, oversized captions everywhere, or the kind of overly aggressive treatment often seen in generic internet marketing content. The editing should elevate the ideas, not distract from them.
What matters most
In order of importance, we care about:
Workflow and tools
You should be comfortable handling source material that may include multiple 4K camera angles, separate WAV audio files, studio or podcast recordings, and longer sessions with repeated takes or false starts.
We’re open to editors working in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. Experience with Descript or AI-assisted workflows is a plus if it helps you move faster without compromising quality.
Channel support
In addition to editing, we’d love for the right person to help with the lighter operational side of the channel, including:
You do not need to be a full-time strategist or growth consultant. We’re primarily looking for a highly capable editor who can also manage the essentials around publishing and channel operations.
Availability
We’re hiring right away and would like to move quickly. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a paid test this weekend, with the possibility of starting the ongoing role immediately after.
Paid test
All shortlisted applicants will receive the same raw footage and audio.
You’ll be asked to create:
No detailed edit-by-edit instructions will be provided. We want to see how you think, what you choose to highlight, and how you approach the material on your own.
Compensation
The starting retainer is £1,750 to £2,500 per month for a part-time ongoing arrangement, with genuine room to grow over time based on performance and responsibility.
