Rocky the Real Estate Dog is building a fresh, personality-driven YouTube channel that combines real estate expertise with a fun, cinematic twist. The series features a licensed agent presenting standout properties while Rocky, a cheerful Golden Retriever with a GoPro, offers a lively, low-angle view of each home.
This role is ideal for a creative video editor who can shape a brand-new channel from the ground up and help turn engaging content into a growing audience. You’ll be responsible for creating videos that feel polished, funny, and highly watchable while still showcasing homes in a professional way.
Each episode should balance two perspectives: the agent’s clear, informative walkthrough and Rocky’s energetic “dog cam” journey through the property. The finished videos should feel fast-moving, visually dynamic, and entertaining from start to finish, with an ideal runtime of about 8 to 12 minutes.
We’re looking for an editor who can enhance the storytelling with subtle humor, smart pacing, and strong audio-visual choices. Rocky’s personality should come through in every cut, especially through playful on-screen captions that reflect his imagined reactions to the spaces he explores.
Bring together multiple camera angles in a smooth, seamless way so the viewer can easily follow both the home tour and Rocky’s point of view. Use energetic editing techniques that keep attention high without feeling rushed or chaotic.
Incorporate lighthearted text animations that capture Rocky’s “thoughts” in a witty, consistent style. These captions should add humor and personality while staying tasteful and easy to read.
Audio should be mixed carefully so Rocky’s natural sounds, such as panting and paw steps, remain part of the experience without overpowering the narration or background music. Select music that feels upbeat, warm, and approachable, with a relaxed indie or acoustic vibe.
Every video should close with a recurring branded ending that highlights Rocky’s verdict on the property. This final segment should include a fun visual rating system using bone-themed scoring for key features such as the yard, kitchen, and favorite lounging spots.
We want someone who has at least 3 years of editing experience and is confident producing content for YouTube and short-form platforms. Experience with behind-the-scenes content, commentary-driven edits, documentary-style storytelling, how-to videos, interviews, and Shorts/Reels is highly relevant.
You should be comfortable working remotely, collaborating on creative ideas, and helping shape a channel’s identity from its earliest stages. A strong sense of pacing, humor, visual storytelling, and audience retention will be essential in this role.
Weekly output will include one fully edited long-form video plus two short-form highlight clips designed for Reels or Shorts.
If you love creating content that is both professional and playful, and you know how to keep viewers engaged from the first frame to the final rating, this could be a great fit.
