Hayden Schreier is looking for a skilled Long-Form Video Editor to help shape entertaining, commentary-driven videos for a growing YouTube audience.

Our content explores money, consumer behavior, business, and the strange ways these worlds collide, all delivered through sharp storytelling and engaging humor. In this role, you’ll take raw talking-head footage, a finished script, and supporting research materials, then transform them into polished videos that hold attention from start to finish.

This is more than a straightforward assembly job. We’re looking for someone who can elevate a story through smart pacing, thoughtful visual choices, meme usage, sound design, graphics, and creative editing decisions that make the final video more dynamic and memorable.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You’ll edit long-form YouTube content from rough footage into a finished, upload-ready video. That includes selecting and placing B-roll, screenshots, social posts, articles, memes, and other visuals that reinforce the narrative and keep viewers engaged.

You should be able to create strong moments throughout the edit that break up talking-head sections and add variety without distracting from the message. Tight pacing is essential, so you’ll need to trim unnecessary pauses, repetition, and dead air while still preserving a natural flow.

Sound effects, music, zooms, motion graphics, and other editing tools should be used intentionally when they improve the storytelling. You’ll work from detailed scripts and research, but we also want someone who can bring creative ideas to the table and make the edit stronger than the script alone.

Revisions are part of the process, so being able to respond well to feedback, work efficiently, and consistently meet deadlines is important.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has experience editing long-form YouTube content, especially in commentary, documentary, educational, or entertainment formats. You understand what keeps viewers watching: a strong hook, clear structure, visual variety, good comedic instincts, and well-placed pattern interrupts.

You should be an active YouTube viewer with a solid sense of current editing trends, internet culture, and meme language. Just as important, you know when to keep an edit subtle and when to lean into a more exaggerated comedic style.

We’re looking for someone who can take a script and translate it visually, not just place random footage over dialogue. You should be comfortable working independently, communicating clearly, and handling deadlines reliably.

Interest in finance, consumerism, business, cars, or online culture is a plus.

Requirements

Applicants should have prior experience editing long-form YouTube videos, or a portfolio strong enough to demonstrate comparable ability. A portfolio with links to relevant work is required.

You should be proficient in a major editing platform such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar software. Comfort working in Google Drive and handling large media files is important, as is having dependable internet and the ability to work remotely.

Strong attention to detail, reliable turnaround times, and fluency in English are required. A minimum of 1+ years of experience is preferred.
