Portable Professional, the team behind Travel Tips with Megan, is looking for a talented video editor to join our growing remote team. Our YouTube channel reaches hundreds of thousands of subscribers and generates millions of monthly views, with content focused on practical travel guidance for older American travelers.
We produce informative videos about airport procedures, TSA updates, airline policy changes, travel mistakes to avoid, and other timely topics that help viewers feel more prepared before they fly. Because our audience is primarily made up of viewers around age 60, clarity, pacing, and readability are especially important in every edit.
This is a freelance position with steady ongoing work. You can expect around 3 to 5 videos per month, with most projects running about 10 to 12 minutes in length.
Our videos typically blend on-camera hosting with voiceover-driven storytelling, supported by stock footage, screenshots, screen captures, text callouts, lists, and simple graphics. Weโre looking for someone who can bring all of those pieces together into polished, easy-to-follow videos that match our established style.
The right editor will be comfortable working on YouTube content that combines talking-head footage and voiceover, while keeping the final product clean, informative, and engaging. Experience with travel-related or news-based content is a big plus, especially if you already understand airport, airline, or TSA terminology.
You should also be confident researching current articles, airline updates, and other supporting information to help strengthen the visuals and accuracy of each script. We value editors who pay close attention to detail, especially when presenting facts, websites, on-screen text, and English-language titles.
Strong communication, dependable turnaround times, and openness to feedback are essential. Familiarity with tools like Frame.io, Slack, and Google Drive is helpful, and fluency in English is required.
In this role, you will edit multiple videos each month while maintaining a consistent look and feel across the channel. Your work will include finding relevant supporting visuals, incorporating screenshots or screen recordings, adding titles and text overlays, and using simple motion graphics when needed.
Youโll also help keep the pacing strong without making the video feel overproduced. The goal is to make complex or news-driven information feel accessible, organized, and visually clear for our audience.
To succeed in this position, you should have professional editing software, a reliable internet connection, and experience delivering work on schedule. Weโre especially interested in editors who can adapt to an existing style and consistently produce clean, well-structured content.
If you enjoy editing educational YouTube videos and want long-term freelance work with a growing channel, weโd love to hear from you.
