The Role
We are on the lookout for a talented Video Editor to take charge of our YouTube Shorts productions across various client channels. Additionally, you'll support our long-form YouTube projects. Your mission is to create content that captivates viewers, employing strong pacing, cultural relevance, clever b-roll and archive usage, sleek graphic design, and impactful sound design.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of Shorts content for client channels, from concept to final edit
- Enhance long-form YouTube edits with a keen sense of pacing, storytelling, and audience retention
- Create engaging social media content that attracts attention organically
- Incorporate b-roll, archive materials, motion graphics, sound effects, and transitions to enhance the narrative
- Stay updated on the latest trends in YouTube and short-form content
- Collaborate closely with our creative lead to push the boundaries of storytelling
- Efficiently manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Bonus: Participate in video shoots, though not mandatory
Ideal Candidate
- Deep understanding of YouTube and short-form content, with insights into what resonates with audiences
- A portfolio that showcases your artistic taste and storytelling instinct, beyond technical skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- A strong sense of humor, pacing, and cultural awareness
- Ability to independently manage projects from editing to final delivery
- Proactive and organized, thriving in a small team environment where multitasking is essential
- Bonus: Experience in shooting video content
- We prioritize talent, instinct, and creativity over years of experience.
Practical Requirements
- Availability to be in London once a month for shoots and team meetings
- Ability to start within the next four weeks
- Authorization to work in the UK
Salary, Contract, and Working Style
- £40,000 to £45,000 based on experience
- Initial 30-day rolling contract for the first three months
- Primarily remote work, with occasional in-person shoot days and team gatherings
- Opportunity to take ownership and influence our creative output as we grow
