Life by Living is seeking an experienced video editor to help shape our DIY, building, and lifestyle content for YouTube. This is a remote role for someone who enjoys working with real-world footage and can turn long-form recordings into smooth, engaging videos that feel polished while staying true to our existing style.
Each project typically starts with several hours of raw material and needs to be distilled into a well-paced final cut of around 25 to 30 minutes. Since the structure of the story is already captured during filming, your focus will be on refining the edit, improving flow, and keeping the viewer engaged from start to finish.
Your day-to-day work will include reviewing footage, selecting the best moments, trimming dialogue and supporting clips, improving pacing, adding music from our curated library, and carrying out basic audio enhancement. Weโre looking for someone who can handle long-form YouTube content with care, consistency, and attention to detail.
Up to now, our team has handled editing in-house, but weโre ready to bring in a dedicated editor to ease the workload and support future growth. In the beginning, weโd like the edit to closely match the look and feel of our current videos so the transition feels seamless for our audience. Over time, weโd love to collaborate with someone who can help us evolve the channelโs editing style and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Experience with DaVinci Resolve is a plus, though weโre open to editors who are confident in other professional editing platforms. Weโre especially interested in candidates who have strong storytelling instincts, a good sense of timing, and a portfolio that reflects work in cinematic, vlog, or walkthrough-style content.
We offer a competitive rate based on skill and quality, and weโre looking for a long-term creative partner rather than a one-off hire. If this sounds like a fit, please share your expected rate per video when applying.
