Casual Geographic is looking for a talented thumbnail designer who can turn ideas into eye-catching visuals that drive clicks for long-form documentary content. This role is ideal for a designer who understands how to blend cinematic storytelling, scientific themes, and strong visual psychology into thumbnails that stand out in a crowded feed.
We want someone who can translate a brief into multiple polished concepts, think creatively when given only a direction or core idea, and consistently deliver work that feels aligned with the channelโs established identity. A strong understanding of what makes viewers stop, feel curiosity, and click is essential.
This position is strictly for a designer who creates artwork manually and does not rely on AI-generated assets or AI-assisted image creation. Originality, craft, and a thoughtful creative process are core to this role.
Weโre especially interested in candidates who are already familiar with the Casual Geographic style and with successful thumbnail trends across documentary, science, and educational channels. The right person will be able to work independently, offer smart creative suggestions, and improve existing concepts when needed.
What weโre looking for:
This is a remote role for an English-speaking designer who can work independently, communicate clearly, and contribute as a creative partner rather than simply executing instructions.
If youโre passionate about making thumbnails that are both visually striking and strategically effective, weโd love to see your work.
Please submit a portfolio of thumbnails youโve designed.
As part of the selection process, you may be asked to redesign an existing thumbnail as a trial task.
