Palette Media is hiring a Spanish/English-speaking video editor to help shape the launch of a new long-form YouTube channel led by an established creator with a substantial U.S. audience.

In this role, you’ll edit commentary-driven videos, interviews, and news-focused content centered on politics, activism, and community stories. You’ll collaborate closely with our production team to transform raw footage into polished, compelling videos that hold attention and clearly support the story being told.

The ideal editor knows how to build momentum through pacing, thoughtful use of B-roll, graphics, captions, music, and sound design. You should be comfortable working with sensitive topics, identifying relevant people and events accurately, and choosing visuals that strengthen both clarity and viewer retention.

This position has the potential to grow into an ongoing monthly partnership as the channel expands.

Compensation details are still being finalized and will be discussed with qualified candidates during the hiring process. All payments will be made in U.S. dollars.

What we’re looking for:

We want someone who is fluent in Spanish and confident working in English, with proven experience editing long-form YouTube content such as interviews, commentary, or news videos. Familiarity with U.S. politics, public figures, current events, and Latino audiences is highly valued.

You should have a strong editorial eye, good judgment, and the ability to organize content in a way that keeps viewers engaged. This role also requires someone who can source supporting visuals, verify that assets match the topics being discussed, and respond well to feedback and direction.

Applicants based in Mexico or elsewhere in Latin America are preferred, though experience and quality of work will matter most. Thumbnail design skills are a plus.

Responsibilities include:

Edit long-form Spanish-language YouTube videos with a clean, engaging style.

Add supporting visuals such as B-roll, motion graphics, captions, music, and sound effects when appropriate.

Confirm that all visual references align correctly with the people, places, and events mentioned.

Help maintain a consistent look and feel across the channel.

Work with producers to implement revisions efficiently and meet agreed deadlines.

Use professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or a similar tool.

Be available to start as soon as possible.
