Joden Clash is building a new YouTube documentary channel focused on gripping long-form stories that explore true crime, unsolved cases, eerie historical events, and investigative mysteries. With a strong audience already across short-form platforms, this is an opportunity to help shape a fresh documentary format from the ground up.
Weโre looking for a researcher-writer who knows how to turn complex subjects into clear, compelling, well-structured scripts for YouTube. This is project-based work, with the possibility of ongoing collaboration for the right fit. Youโll be part of the early development process and help define the style and direction of each film.
For each documentary, youโll collaborate on the idea, dig into primary sources and archival material, build the narrative structure, and write the outline and script. Youโll also contribute to planning production details such as filming locations and interview subjects, helping ensure the story translates effectively from page to screen.
The ideal candidate has experience creating research-led content for YouTube or a similar documentary format. A background in journalism, archives, records research, or freedom of information work would be a strong advantage. You should be comfortable working independently, thinking creatively, and handling sensitive or unusual subject matter with care.
This role is fully remote, though candidates based near London or Norwich may occasionally have the chance to work together in person. Weโre especially interested in people who are collaborative, resourceful, and excited by the challenge of building standout documentary content.
If this sounds like you, weโd love to hear from you.
Please send a sample of writing youโre especially proud of, along with one story idea youโd be excited to develop.
