About the Role

Ole Strand, a dynamic performance marketing agency, is seeking a skilled Thumbnail Designer who can merge the art of visual storytelling with deep psychological insights. Our mission is to connect short-term paid media success with enduring brand growth for prominent health, wellness, and lifestyle e-commerce brands. In this role, you will be tasked with creating thumbnails that are more than just eye-catching—they're strategically crafted to engage founders, CMOs, and marketing directors of established brands. Your success will be measured by the quality of leads generated, not mere view counts. Collaborate with our content strategist and video editor to design thumbnails that exude sophistication and strategic depth, highlighting the essence of performance marketing intertwined with brand strategy.

Who We're Looking For

We are in search of a candidate who not only designs aesthetically pleasing visuals but also understands the psychological triggers that drive engagement. You should have an innate ability to appeal to the desires, curiosity, and status of busy executives, encouraging them to delve into content about paid media strategies. Your design sensibilities should cater to high-level executives, steering clear of generic aesthetics. As a strategic thinker, you should be able to conceptualize compelling hooks for topics like "The Performance/Brand Flywheel" or "Escaping Paid Ads Purgatory". A portfolio showcasing your expertise in designing for B2B or upscale audiences is essential. Confidence in your skills balanced with a willingness to learn and adapt is key.

Preferred Skills and Experience

- Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Figma, or their equivalents for crafting compelling thumbnails.

- A strong grasp of visual hierarchy, typography, and color theory, particularly in relation to click-through psychology.

- The ability to distill complex strategic themes into clear, engaging visual concepts.

- Experience in designing thumbnails or visual elements for YouTube channels, preferably in B2B, marketing, or business education domains.

- A diverse portfolio that highlights your design range, taste, and audience-specific approach.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to adhere to weekly deadlines, with a readiness to iterate designs based on performance data and A/B testing outcomes.

Bonus points for any experience or understanding in direct response marketing, e-commerce, or the paid media sector.
