About the Opportunity

Mysteries of Mythology is looking for an experienced video editor to help elevate our content and lighten the editing workload as the channel continues to grow. This is a remote role with strong potential to become a long-term collaboration for the right person.

You’ll work from a supplied voiceover, music, core visuals, and an established editing template, then shape each video with thoughtful additions such as archival clips, B-roll, maps, text, subtle motion graphics, and other supporting visuals when they genuinely strengthen the narrative.

Our videos are designed to feel polished, cinematic, and engaging while still maintaining a clear documentary flow. We value edits that support the story and keep viewers interested without feeling overly fast-paced or cluttered.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with strong editorial instincts and a storytelling mindset. Rather than simply placing visuals over narration, you should be able to judge what best serves the pacing, tone, and clarity of each piece.

We also appreciate candidates who are comfortable offering creative input and workflow suggestions. If you see a better way to structure a sequence, improve retention, or streamline production, we want to hear it.

Previous experience editing documentary, educational, history, or faceless YouTube content will be especially valuable. A solid understanding of visual accuracy is important as well, since the imagery should support the subject matter without misleading the audience.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Produce clean, engaging edits with strong pacing and narrative flow
• Build videos from provided voiceover, music, and source imagery
• Find relevant B-roll, archival material, and maps when needed
• Use simple animation, text treatments, and motion graphics to enhance clarity
• Keep project assets, footage, and timelines well organized
• Avoid AI-generated visuals or footage
• Communicate clearly, ask questions when needed, and stay responsive throughout the process
• Accept feedback well and apply revisions efficiently

We currently edit in DaVinci Resolve, so experience with that platform is preferred since our existing template is already set up there. Premiere Pro is also acceptable, though some initial workflow setup may be required.
