Long-Form YouTube Video Editor โ€“ Godzilla/Kaiju/Dinosaurs

๐Ÿ‘‰ Job Description

Minya fda is seeking a dependable long-term video editor to help produce polished YouTube content centered on Godzilla, kaiju, powerscaling, character breakdowns, versus debates, and scripted commentary videos.

Most projects run between 15 and 30 minutes, with many landing around 20 to 25 minutes. Youโ€™ll receive the finished voiceover, script, and any supporting research or reference materials needed to build the edit. Your role will be to transform that material into an engaging final video using the right mix of movie clips, still images, screenshots, text callouts, music, sound effects, memes, zooms, transitions, and other attention-grabbing visuals.

Accuracy matters on this channel. When the narration references a specific scene, statement, or feat, the edit should reflect that exact moment rather than using unrelated footage. For highly detailed or niche references, additional clips, screenshots, or notes will be provided so you know exactly what should appear on screen. For broader sections, youโ€™ll have room to use your own creative judgment to keep the pacing dynamic and the presentation entertaining.

This is an ongoing opportunity for someone interested in building a consistent working relationship, not a one-off assignment.

What weโ€™re looking for:

  • Strong pacing instincts for longer YouTube videos
  • Ability to align visuals closely with narration
  • Comfort editing commentary, analysis, and video essay content
  • Skill in making screenshots, quotes, and on-screen evidence visually engaging
  • Good taste when selecting B-roll, clips, and supporting visuals
  • Ability to use memes and sound effects in a balanced, effective way
  • Clear communication and willingness to ask questions when needed
  • Interest in learning and adapting to an established editing style over time

Familiarity with Godzilla, MonsterVerse, kaiju media, anime, comics, gaming, or movie commentary is a strong advantage, though not required.

Requirements:

  • Experience editing long-form YouTube content
  • Solid sense of timing, pacing, and visual storytelling
  • Comfort following detailed instructions and reference videos
  • Reliable communication and reasonable turnaround times
  • Willingness to revise work when needed
  • Preferred software: CapCut, though Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Vegas Pro, and similar tools are also acceptable

Compensation is expected to be around $150 per finished video, with final pay depending on video length and complexity. The goal is to find someone who can grow with the channel and contribute consistently over time.

Before a full project is assigned, shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a paid 60โ€“90 second test edit to evaluate style fit and editing quality.

To apply, please send examples of your previous editing work, the software you use, your usual turnaround time, and whether you have experience with commentary, scripted essays, or similar content.
