Long Form Video Editor – Remote Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and dependable video editor to become a part of our emerging YouTube channel team. Our mission is to inspire and educate a younger audience as they navigate educational and professional avenues, with content that is both informative and entertaining.

Role Responsibilities

As our Video Editor, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of content that includes talking head videos, engaging vlogs, dynamic street interviews, and insightful podcasts. Talking head videos, vlogs, and interviews will typically run between 8 to 20 minutes, whereas our podcasts may extend from 45 to 90 minutes.

Required Editing Expertise

We are looking for someone skilled in diverse editing techniques such as dynamic zooms, effective b-roll overlays, kinetic typography, and advanced sound design. Your work should reflect a professional and clean aesthetic, aiming for high audience retention.

Preferred Editing Style

While we provide reference points such as the YouTube channels of Nischa, Ali Abdaal, and Dr. Izzy Sealey, we encourage your unique touch that maintains a polished and engaging look. For vlogs and street interviews, a more energetic and brisk editing style is desired, akin to Ali Abdaal vlogs or Max Fosh street interviews. Podcasts will require a simpler editing approach.

Compensation

We offer a competitive fixed rate of £125 - £250 per video, adjusted according to video length and type. Additionally, we are open to discussing a bonus structure that rewards growth and successful video performance.

Workload and Deadlines

Our goal is to produce one video per week, contingent on recording availability. Your primary focus will be ensuring a swift and efficient editing process, with a completion target of one week from receiving the video, including any necessary revisions.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of three years of relevant editing experience, ideally aligning with the styles mentioned. Consistent delivery and effective communication via messages or email are essential.
